Here is a list of our most common pet related questions:
Can I bring my pet to Stehekin? Does the Ranch allow pets? Can pets accompany me on activities?
Can I bring my pet to Stehekin?
Yes....but. While we realize it is important to many people to bring their whole family with them when traveling, there are some things to take into consideration before you bring your pet to Stehekin. First off, traveling with a pet limits your options for arrival in Stehekin. The Lake Chelan Boat Co. only allows pets on the Lady II boat during the summer, and the animals AND their owners are required to stay outside on the back deck. This boat is also not the ideal for folks staying at the Ranch, because it's arrival in Stehekin does not coincide with the Shuttle Bus which takes you the 9 miles up-valley to the Ranch. It will work, but you will have a 1.5 hour wait for the next bus.
Does the Ranch allow pets?
Yes. We do ask that your pet be well behaved however, and that you can assure us that it will not degrade our other clients' enjoyment of our peaceful setting. You will be responsible for your pet at all times. Leaving a pet inside your cabin while you are away at an activity is not a good option, as we have had problems with damage and/or barking while owners are not present. If you are willing to attend to your pet throughout your entire stay, then we are happy to have them here. There is a fee of $25/pet which covers the entire stay.
Can pets accompany me on activities?
Generally no. They are allowed to go on the road and the Pacific Crest Trail and on a leash in the National Recreation Area. All other trails are closed to dogs. Animals are not allowed on Rafting, Horseback Riding, or Kayaking trips.
