Current Plans for Summer 2020

Will Stehekin Valley Ranch be open this summer?

YES! We are planning to be open as usual until such time as we are told we can’t.

What’s in store for 2020? That’s a good question for sure, and hard to answer right now! These are crazy times, but here at the Ranch we are optimistic that better times are on the way.

We are currently scheduled to be open for Memorial Day Weekend, and are still hopeful that we will be able to make that happen. We are in process of getting the Ranch whipped back into shape after the long winter months.

There has been some confusion about the current state of Stehekin, so to clarify:
The North Cascades National Park, which includes the Lake Chelan Recreation Area, has officially been closed. However, Stehekin is unique in that it is a community of private property within the Lake Chelan Recreation Area. Residents are still here, boat service (3 days a week) is still available, and to say that the valley is “closed” is pretty inaccurate. It is true that the Ranch and Bakery are not currently open, but that is 100% normal for this time of year.

We are, of course, still subject to the same “stay at home” order as everyone else. We are optimistic that this will be lifted in May, and are looking forward to welcoming folks back to this lovely valley as soon as people can travel safely again.

We will continue to monitor the situation, of course. Currently Washington State’s stay at home order is set through May 4. We intend to wait until then to see what the situation looks like at that time, before making a final decision as to whether we will be forced to delay opening. Fingers crossed that all goes well, and we are set free!

The weather has been amazing lately, and we are enjoying the sunshine and warm weather. We can’t wait to see you, and share this wonderful valley again. If you are wondering what to do this Memorial Day Weekend, give Stehekin a try! You won’t regret it!

Meanwhile, stay home, stay safe, and look for the good things around you. For those of you who have continued working to supply health care, food, shelter and transportation – Thank You!
