About Field’s Point Landing
Field’s Point is many things – the most important of which is probably that it is where you can park and catch all of the passenger boats which can take you to Holden Village and/or Stehekin. It also has some short trails, picnic tables, public restrooms, and has some great views of Lake Chelan.
Catching a Boat:
There are two companies that provide passenger service on Lake Chelan:
- The Stehekin Ferry (StehekinFerry.com)
- Discover Lake Chelan (LadyoftheLake.com)
Both of these will pick you up right here at the Field’s Point Dock. They will take you up-lake to Holden Village or Stehekin, and also to various flag stops along the way. You can find their sailing schedules on their respective websites provided above.

Parking:
This is a great place to park if you are planning to spend some time on the upper end of Lake Chelan. The lot is gated, and there is also a concessionaire on site during the day. Parking fees vary based on length of stay, including a day rate.
There is a loading zone allowing you to drive down to lake level to make it easy to get your luggage to and from the boat dock. Field’s Point is also quite an enjoyable place to wait for your boat, with benches, picnic tables, trails, and a fabulous view!
Why Choose Field’s Point Landing?
Good question. Here are a few reasons you may prefer to embark on your uplake adventure from Field’s Point Landing instead of Chelan:
- Choices – If you choose Field’s Point, you can elect to ride on any of the commercial boats operating on Lake Chelan. If you board in Chelan, you eliminate the option of riding the popular Stehekin Ferry.
- Convenience – Many folks are driving from the western side of the state, and it takes the same amount of time to drive to either the Chelan dock or the Field’s Point dock. However, choosing Field’s Point will eliminate 18 miles of boat travel, saving at least one hour of travel time!
- Security – All of the parking at Field’s Point Landing is inside of a gated lot, and an attendant is present when the gate is open.
- Economical – The cost of parking at Field’s Point Landing is less expensive than the Chelan lot. Current rates are $7/day, or $35/week at Field’s Point vs. $10/day, $60/week in Chelan. Discounted rates available for longer stays (months/year).
